MEET MEG

At last word studio, we pull from the past and look to the future with innovative design elements that brings the client to the center of our inspiration.

Last Word Studio combines Meg’s experience and passion for interiors and product design, with her love of history. Inspired by her great-grandmothers stamp collection, Last Word Studio brings quirky, innovative, and bold design to your brand or home.

Meg is a designer from the Midwest with a love of history,  graphic design, and Chinese pizza (read: Fong’s in Des Moines, IA). She has worked on residential, multifamily, and commercial projects with clients from all across the United States.

Meg has been honored with multiple awards, including a SRS award for research in the CCA for her honors thesis FOLD: A modern lighting line (2017) , a two time winner of Durkan’s Dscvr competition (2016,2017), and a top 5 finalist for the Kennedy Center Israeli Lounge International Design Competition in 2018.

After placing first in Durkan’s Dscvr Competition, she was commissioned to create a free standing carpet collection for Durkan, known as Symbiotic, which launched in December 2018 and has been featured in Hospitality Design Magazine . She was recruited by Durkan as a field designer in the Chicago/ North Central region, designing custom carpet for a range of branded and boutique hotels. She continues to do custom interior work and design collections under Last Word Studio.

With a passion in the hospitality segment of design with products and interiors, Meg’s goal is to create a space that is uniquely catered toward the client- whether it be through personal touches throughout a home, a saturated boutique hotel design, or a specifically branded interior for an office or storefront.
